Leading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable, Family
The Nissan LEAF is the first mass produced, 100% electric, compact five door hatchback. It is the world’s bestselling electric car and also the market leader in Ireland.
The LEAF was designed and built from the ground up as an electric car. This means that every design element is selected to improve energy efficiency, handling, performance and range.
LEAF Range
The LEAF comes with a 24kWh battery as standard. On a full charge this battery can give you a range of 199KM (NEDC*). Actual range will vary due to driving style, speed, road conditions, weather and other factors and will give an average of 140km from a single charge.
A new 30kWh battery option is now available to order. This battery is an option on the SV and the SVE models of LEAF. The 30kWh battery can provide a new range of 250KM (NEDC*). As above the actual range will vary due to driving style, speed, road conditions, weather and other factors but on average is 190km per full charge.
There are a variety of ways that help maximise your range. Leaf has 3 driving modes, Drive Mode, B mode and Eco Mode. Drive mode for normal driving conditions, B mode - every time you brake, the electric motor acts as an electric generator, converting energy that would otherwise be wasted. Eco mode for slower traffic speeds reducing hard line acceleration and managing air conditioning levels.

Charging your LEAF
To keep your LEAF on the road there are several ways to charge it up. At home, at the office or for a quick top-up using the public infrastructure (chargers are available at supermarkets, shopping centres, main streets, public parking spaces and petrol stations).
Charging at Home
Before you take delivery of your new Nissan LEAF, your LEAF dealer will apply for your Home Charger on your behalf through ESB e-cars, who will then arrange for an electrical contractor to contact you and discuss the installation of your free home charger (first 2,000 only). Once installed you will be able to charge your LEAF at your home. Charging your LEAF using your Home Charger typically takes 8 hours from empty to full (based on 24kwh battery).
Charging using the public infrastructure
Ireland has a comprehensive network of EV Chargers that are installed and maintained by the ESB. This fleet includes Standard Chargers and Fast Chargers. The fast chargers are more powerful than your home charger or the standard charge points you will find on the street.
Your Nissan LEAF is equipped with a Quick Charger which allows you to use the Fast Charger system. Charging your LEAF from empty to 80% full will take approximately 30 minutes. As with the standard charger network, most customers with arrive with reserve capacity so charge times at typically 10-20 minutes – just enough time for a cup of tea. Nissan LEAF SV and SVE grades come equipped with the LEAF Telematic SatNav system which displays the closest available charging station for your Nissan LEAF.
